Description:

In November 2020, Auditing and Assurance Standards Board approved the new standard on compilation engagements. Whether you are a practitioner, member of the management team, or a third-party user of these compiled financial statements, CSRS 4200 has changed how these compilations engagements are performed, documented, and reported on.

Richa Khanna, Partner in-charge of Professional Standards at Baker Tilly Vaughan LLP will provide you with a high level understanding of these changes.

Richa acts as an advisor to the partnership and professional staff on accounting and assurance related matters in an ever-changing reporting and professional standards environment. She is the leader of the firm's professional development program aimed at developing and maintaining the accounting and assurance-related knowledge of its partners and staff. She oversees the quality control program, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement. As the program leader of the CPA program, she is responsible for providing students with access to mentors, adequate training, work experience and plays an ongoing role in their success.

Richa has been a part-time practice inspector with CPA Ontario, a role aimed at protecting public interest and providing other practitioners with an educational experience. She is currently the Chair, Small and Medium-Sized Practitioners Committee at CPA Canada (Audit and Assurance Taskforce). She is a past member of the Board of Evaluators of CPA Ontario responsible for the provincial examinations. She also volunteered as a Mentor Champions at CPA Ontario, contributing to the development of the CPA mentorship program in Ontario and providing ongoing support to CPA mentors.

Richa graduated from Delhi University, India in 1999 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree and joined the audit and assurance practice of one of the big four firms in India. At the practice, she qualified as a CA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 2003. While working in the audit and assurance practice at one of the big four firms in Canada, she qualified as CPA (Colorado) in 2007 (not active) and Canadian CPA in 2010. In November 2020, she was admitted as a Fellow Member of ICAI.
