Session Agenda
It is critical that International students have a detailed study plan laid out, which they can follow when approaching the CFE.
This session will provide detailed information with regard to the CFE and the CPA program as well as guidance on how to study for this exam. The session will discuss, in a high level of detail, the option of not attending Capstone 1 and 2 and how to really prepare properly for the CFE exam.
House Rules
No outside food or beverages (including water). Please carry your own water bottles and fill up at the water station at the venue.
About PASS
PASS (Professional Accounting Supplementary School) is an accounting school that provides preparatory courses to accounting students attempting to pass their CPA exams. PASS provides courses and other resources including study binders, books and videos to help students get through the Module Exams as well as the CFE.
PASS has developed an extensive program to help international students, primarily from India, to pass the CFE. The program includes technical material, videos, extensive case writing and personal counselling sessions with markers. Students have complete access to Michael and Ira (the instructors) for questions throughout the process.
PASS is Canada’s most experienced prep program. The school has been in operation for over 25 years, providing courses to the general public across Canada as well as managing and delivering CPA training within accounting firms (i.e. PWC, EY, Deloitte, etc.). For the last 16 years PASS has been responsible for the PWC national UFE program and is now responsible for the PWC CFE program.

Michael Levi
1987 U.F.E. Ontario Gold Medalist C.A. (1987), MBA (York, Schulich Business School, 1985, Honour Roll), B.Comm (U. of T., 1983, With Distinction)
Michael Levi was the 1987 U.F.E. Ontario Gold Medalist. He has extensive teaching experience as an instructor for the Professional Accounting Supplementary School (P.A.S.S.) CFE, Module Exam, U.F.E., SOA and CKE Courses for the last 25 years. He has also lectured in Accounting using the case method at the University of Toronto, York University, Concordia University and the University of Waterloo.
In addition to his teaching experience, Michael was a Senior Manager at Deloitte and Touche until May 1995 when he resigned his position to devote himself full time to education and training. Michael consults in Workers' Compensation to companies and has worked with the Provincial Government, Ministry of Finance, in designing the Equity in Education Tax Credit.
Ira Walfish

Ira Walfish’s teaching experience includes delivering CFE, Module Exam, U.F.E., SOA and CKE sessions at P.A.S.S. for the last 25 years, as well as instructing an accounting case writing course at York University, and lecturing at Concordia University and the University of Waterloo.
Ira was a Senior Manager at Ernst and Young until April 1995 when he resigned his position to pursue education and training on a full time basis. Ira consults in Workers' Compensation to companies and has worked with the Provincial Government, Ministry of Finance, in designing the Equity in Education Tax Credit. Ira sits on a number of non-profit and education Boards.
