Details of speakers:

1. Toni Ferrari

Toni Ferrari was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of CIPF in January 2023.

Prior to her role at CIPF, Ms. Ferrari served as Senior Vice President, Internal Audit at Scotiabank. Ms. Ferrari has also held senior positions with TD Bank, Barrick Gold Corporation and Royal Bank of Canada. She began her career in the Canadian financial sector in compliance and advisory roles at the Ontario Securities Commission, where she worked to establish regulatory oversight over securities registrants, and the (then) Investment Dealers Association of Canada, as well as the creation of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada.

 

Ms. Ferrari is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Finance from the University of Toronto.

 

2. Aiona Santana

Aiona was introduced to Latin Music genres from a young age and hails from a musical family with Venezuelan background. Aiona Santana is an emerging and innovative artist with a growing fan base that has followed her since she began her professional career as a teenager. Her passion is fanned by training in music theory, voice, piano, guitar, dance, and acting lessons from a young age to express her passion for the arts. She studied a Bachelor of Music in Voice and a Minor in Arts Management at Carleton University. 

In 2020 Aiona Santana released her first album “Invicta”, where she collaborated with well-known Hip Hop artists, including; NTHN and Marty Party. This album features a fusion of Urban Latin Music sounds, as well as Pop music elements. Aiona was nominated for her songs “Sin Ti” and “Diosa” for the “Latin Awards Canada”, for 2 consecutive years and won the awards for “Best New Artist – Revelation of the Year”. The awards gala took place in Montreal, Canada.

Among these projects is her soon-to-be-released single ‘Fronteo’ which was written and produced in collaboration with 2021 Latin Grammy nominees and winners; Raniero Palm and Manuel Shay.

 

 

3. Shauna Vassell

Shauna is a Certified Executive Coach (CEC), Change Practitioner, Team Coach and Facilitator. She is highly dynamic, results-driven coach, facilitator, and consultant focusing primarily on team development, high-performance strategies, culture change, and organizational effectiveness.

Shauna works with front-line and senior leaders at both the personal and team levels,

across multiple industries such as finance, insurance, technology, and healthcare –

helping them to build effective teams, and improve key relationships while

maintaining boundaries. She brings over 15 years of experience managing multi-million-dollar strategic initiatives aimed at improving organizational performance and implementing large-scale changes.

She has facilitated workshops on core leadership and career-specific topics.

Shauna’s background includes a bachelor’s in management, the Five Behaviors

Assessment, Everything DISC Assessment, Six Sigma, Prosci Change Management,

Project Management, Agile Methodologies, Executive Coaching, Career Development,

and experience in Genos Emotional Intelligence, MBTI and StrengthsFinder.

 

4. Luzita Kennedy

Luzita Kennedy is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience. Most recently, she was the Founder and President of a boutique consulting firm that specialized in working with high net worth and ultra high net worth families as they prepared to transition their business to the next generation of leaders. This included assessing succession candidates, onboarding and coaching new leaders and aligning organization culture strategy and goals. Luzita is ex-Partner in KPMG’s Advisory Practice, working with multinational insurance companies, Real Estate Investment Trusts and financial institutions.

Starting in July 2022, Luzita joined Scotia Wealth Management as part of their Canadian Wealth Management team. In this role, Luzita is responsible for working and partnering with Wealth leaders in providing a total wealth solution for high-net-worth clients and business owners. Luzita is based in Toronto and sits on the Board of Havergal College.

 

5. Sandip Chaudhary

Sandip brings 25 years and 4 industries worth of global experience. He has spent over 15 years in the Canadian banking industry and is currently serving as Head of International, Customer growth & Partnerships, of Wealth & Personal Banking, HSBC Bank Canada.

Outside of work Sandip co-founded Summit, a civic volunteering mentorship network that serves new immigrants to eradicate underemployment. Over the past few years, Summit has helped over a hundred new immigrants find meaningful employment and start their new journeys in Canada. 

In addition, Sandip regularly does one-on-one coaching and newcomer mentoring. Over the pandemic, Sandip extended his mentoring by creating a Youtube channel called The Compass Guide. Along with sharing his own experiences, Sandip invites industry leaders to share insights and stories to inspire, motivate, and encourage new immigrants to start their careers in Canada. Sandip has served as a guest speaker with Times Higher Education, Toronto Metropolitan University, UFT, Access employment & others. 

In recognition of his dedication to mentoring, inclusion and diversity, Sandip was honored with the HSBC Global Inclusion Award in 2023. He also received “Immigrant Mentor” award by Canadian Bazar magazine & IMEC award for his work in this space.
