Lean is a customer orientated business improvement methodology which utilizes a continuous improvement framework (with a user friendly set of tools) to enhance processes and add value through the elimination of waste. Originally utilized in manufacturing environments, Lean has been used for several decades. Today, it is increasingly used across the whole enterprise, including the Finance function. By adopting a Lean approach, an organization can focus on creating processes that better support the organization strategy, while significantly reducing complexity.
